OUR HISTORY
1977
In 1977, Mr. George Kitsios embarked on an extraordinary journey to Osaka, Japan. Mr. George was driven by a visionary dream: to import high-quality vehicles from Japan and introduce them to the Cypriot market. His journey to Osaka marked the beginning of a new era in the Cypriot automobile industry.

During his time in Japan, Mr. George established connections with Aichi Automobile General Services Co., Ltd. This company, later evolved into the widely acclaimed USS auctions. This marked the beginning of the first exportation of Japanese used cars to Cyprus through Aichi Automobile.
1977
In 1977, the Kitsios Motors dealership opened in the Pallouriotisa district in Nicosia, Cyprus. Mr. George stayed in one of the flats above the dealership. This became the home of Mr. George and his family after they were forced to leave their house in Kontea, Famagusta following the 1974 war in Cyprus and the illegal Turkish occupation. The two boys in the picture are Christophoros Kitsios (left) and Andreas Kitsios (right), the sons of Mr. George. They now play a prominent role in the company and are contributing substantially to its ongoing success and operations.
1978
Mr. George Kitsios extended an invitation to Mr. Hatori, who would later rise to the position of President at USS Co., Ltd., along with his team, to visit Cyprus. This visit was aimed at providing them with first-hand insights into the used car market in Cyprus and demonstrating the potential of exporting Japanese used cars to other countries. Following this experience, Mr. Hatori was inspired to establish the renowned "USS" car auctions.
1995
In 1995, Mr. George Kitsios returned to Japan. His primary objective with this venture was to export used vehicles from Japan to Cyprus on a monthly basis. To facilitate his operations, he set up his office in the Osaka region, conveniently located near the renowned "Bay Tower."

Mr. George was primarily focused on wholesale during this time. His cars were supplied through car auctions. He was a member of over 70+ auctions across Japan! This expansive network allowed him to access a diverse range of vehicles, catering to various customer preferences and demands. His involvement in such a large number of auctions also highlights his deep commitment to the industry and his expertise in navigating the complex landscape of car sales and acquisitions.
1995
Kitsios Motors is relocated to a bigger dealership in Pallouriotisa district in Nicosia, Cyprus. Kitsios Motors was averaging 400 cars exported every month from Japan to Cyprus! With the most cars exported in a single month being 800! The Kitsios Motors dealership remains at this site until today.
2017
Kitsios Motors celebrates 40 years of history! This celebration is not just about longevity but also a testament to the company's enduring commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction. Over these four decades, Kitsios Motors has evolved from a local dealership into a respected and integral part of the automotive community, continuously adapting to changing market demands and technological advancements.
